BSA 30mm red dot?

Will a BSA 30mm red dot sight stand up to 12 gauge recoil on my model 500? I want to replace the scope with something with more field of view. I will be shooting slugs and buckshot.

Better step up to a Bushnell Trophy or something in that range. I wasn't very happy with my BSA and it was on a 22. I would think the recoil would destroy it.

it might for a little while but in the long wrong run your going to run into problems

I've had one on my 12ga mossy 835 since I bought it 6 or 7 years ago and I shoot 3" and 3.5" turkey loads and it's still going strong, But I just put a Tru Glo 2X red dot on my slug gun before deer season this year and love it. Sighted it in at 65 yards and shot 3 shots into 2 holes touching.

I tried one on my 20 gage H&R it broke within 10 shots.

I cant believe that I am going to say this, but a friend of mine has the BSA on his 1100 and it has not failed him yet.  That being said I hate BSA!!!!! ;D
