Do you use muskrat lure for the fall open water muskrat season?I'm making up some floats to try this year.
I love the smell of coyote gland lure early in the morning. It smells like victory!!

I do use lure on floats--I also put a big pile of bottom vegetation in the middle of the float--to simulate a rats feeder hut.

Never was much on using lure for rats. My Dad taught me to set on sign so thats about all I ever did. Conibears and colony traps in holes and #1 long springs in feedbeds wired out to deep water. Never trapped any muskrat houses, just bank dens and feedbeds. Not very many lakes or marshes where I grew up. I have used apples, carrots and grass root balls in feedbeds. I have a few bottles of muskrat lure I got in a trade I might try this year.
