Working on some coon baits
« on: October 28, 2010, 11:01:03 PM »
I'm making up 2 coon baits to try when the season opens. One is ground fish based with shellfish oil, fish oil and a gland product .The other one is based on ground up sweet corn, molasses, honey with a couple of other ingredients to help it reach out.I figure once all the corn is picked, corn, will still be attractive to coon.I may leave the shell fish oil out as I want the coons to eat the bait.No preservatives as I want them to eat this.I'll keep it cold until I use it.I can make small batches so it will stay fresh.
I love the smell of coyote gland lure early in the morning. It smells like victory!!
