Turkeys cause problems, when they over populate. Can't raise a garden anymore, they eat it up.

Almost any day of the week, there are between 20-100 turkeys in my yard and 10 acre pasture. My dog no longer bothers to bark at them.

Once,on the way to town, I rough counted approximately 600 turkeys
in a 9 mile stretch.

When turkeys reach these concentrations, the deer move out, since they utilize the same food sources.Deer hate turkeys so much they will run them down and stomp them to death.

The answer to the problem may be to classify them as varmints.

I live in Cannon Co.Tn.,right in the middle of the state.

My brother accused me of stretching the truth about the number of turkeys in the area until he came to visit. He is now a believer!

I would not be adversed to having them thinned out.

I had a place like that here in Dickson Co a few years back. I just couldn't wait til season opened. I used to go by the farmers place and his wife would show me videos with over 150 birds in their lower pasture. Season opened and I saw 1 jake and a single hen, never heard another bird. I asked the farmer where all the birds went and he said he thought they had been boxed up and shipped to East Tn. in the back of green pick-ups. Puzzled, he carried me inside and showed me a video of TWRA cannon netting birds out of his pasture for transplanting. So if they did wind up east of Nashville I'd appreciate it if you Wildcat Crazy and you Cknight would give me back my birds. :-D  :-D

Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time....ES
