Contender Barrel

I would like to get a 22 barrel for my contender.  I was wondering about the quality of a used barrel vs. buying a new one.  Can these barrels be "shot out"? Are there good used ones out there or just ones that are used up...

Have some one with you that is knowlegable to look down the bore. It's pretty tough to "shoot out" a 22 barrel. One rule of thumb that I use when looking over used guns is to see if the bore is good and clean. If not it tells me that they either don't take care of their guns, or they are trying to hide some thing by leaving it dirty. Either way I'm no longer interested.   KN
