I have three 30-30 topper barrels on various frames. I have checked all the frames for cracks and wear. I handload 130 grain bullets using data in Hogdgons #26 manual which gives me pressure and velocity. I just load to under the stated velocity to enhance safety with these older frames. Recoil is just a soft push and allows me to watch thru the scope as I shoot and can see impact. Kinda nice.
I also have a .223 SL barrel and a 30-06 barrel that I use on a SB2 2003 frame. I think the 30-30 doesn't stress a frame to much simply because of the case design and low loading pressure.
