First cannon firing after 28 years (video)
« on: October 29, 2010, 12:19:02 AM »
Well 28 years ago my dad traded something for this Cannon. It sat in my room as I grew up, and we never got around to shooting it - until now.

The video lets you choose a gallon jug target and it's recorded in 60fps slow motion. Also if you wait till the end, you can watch another video of a pumpkin getting shot.

I agree Spuddy, that was indeed odd!
RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

The one thing that you can almost always rely on research leading to, is more research.

Thanks! Bore is 1.75" in diameter, and we were firing golf balls as a first test.

I need a higher FPS camera for the next time, as 60FPS is far to slow to capture hitting the target in slow motion.
