Bushnell Bannner w / 6" eye releif, Any Good ?
« on: December 01, 2010, 01:36:35 PM »
Im looking to buy a rifle scope with longer eye releif for a gift to a friend.  I was looking at the Banner # 713947 with 6" of eye releif.  This is a 3 x 9 variable, Anyone have one and have a opinion of the quality and does it have 6" of ER.    Thanks,   Jed

I really like them if they are suitable for your application.  They are cheapest on ebay.

Owned one 15+ years ago.  Worst scope I have ever held.  Each to his own.  You can do better my friend.

The current scope isn't anything like the one they made 15 years ago......but then no scope is anything like it was 15 years ago.  They are all at least 10 times better.

I've been using one on an H&R Ultra Slugger 12 ga.  No problems to date.  At the price of Sabot slugs, I've not fired it much.  Perhaps 15-20 times.

Banners are a great scope for the money. I say buy it. I have had on 12 years and no issues at all.

I agree the Banner line has been around for some time and has a good following. I still have two old banners 1x4x20s with a post Xhair. Still working well enough, I could pick them apart, but feel for the price you could considerably worse for sure.

Where it me, I would wait and watch for a used leupold for near the same $$. A VXI or II are had for 150ish and would carry the lifetime warranty from Leupold.

Good luck with what ever you choose,
