Load data for 458 SOCOM?
« on: February 01, 2010, 05:13:27 AM »
I am considering one of these uppers for my AR-15 but can not find load data for this round. Hogdon does not list it on their site. Does anyone have any info they can pass on or tell me which rock to look under?

You can e-mail Marty on the 458 SOCOM forum site.  The forum has been down for some time but he'll answer you eventually.  I believe there is also data posted on AR15.com.  I'm still working on loads for mine.  The best I've gotten is about 1 inch at 50 yards for 3 shot groups; I'm hoping for 1.5 inch 100 yard 3 shot groups but haven't gotten there yet.

There is some load data here  http://www.matsuvalleyohv.com/vbforum/forumdisplay.php?f=54 as well. Most of it is cast lead data, but there is some jacketed data as well. Best brush weapon system EVER IMO BTW....
