My new 738 mouse gun
« on: November 09, 2010, 03:53:55 AM »
I can't be happier - cleaned it and lubed - 100 % reliable with both supplied mags. Locks back on last shot every time. Shoots to point of aim - loaded chamber indicator works fine and a big plus in my book. Tried 3 different factory loads and a couple varieties or hard cast hand loads - all ran 100%. How can it get any better? And only 9.5 ounces - I have to add, the trigger is very smooth and controlable. I have every confidence that a .380 will give a perp "pause". Lastly - MADE IN THE USA

Now get some Hornady Defense Loads withe red plastic polymer tips ( see NRA AM Rifleman or Shooting Times articles) and you will be pretty well armed.  The new Hornady loads, if you haven't tested them or heard about them, are getting great reviews.  WWW.Cheaperthandirt.com, also NRA affiliated, stocks them.

neither one of my 738's loads the new Hornaday's ok...truncated FMJs are a problem with one of them, but not the other. Seems both of them prefer round nose FMJ's. I have not tried other hollow points...

incidentally, my Bersa Thunder shoots anything
