My LCPs First Date

I finally had time to take my new LCP to the range yesterday and was quite impressed. Other than some Gold Dots all the ammo I had were my relaods. Started with 50 rounds of 100 gr. copper plated round nose over 2.5 gr. of Bullseye. She ate all of these without a hiccup. I then shot 100 rounds of 102 gr. cast round nose over 2.0 gr. of Bullseye and to my surprise all of these functioned flawlessly. The cast bullets were a bit more accurate than the copper plated. The Gold Dots also functioned properly with no jams, failure to feed or smoke stacks. After reading the article in the Feb 2010 American Rifleman I expected to have to go through a couple hundred factory loads before the LCP would begin running smooth but this one is a keeper right out of the box. A tip of the hat to the fine folks at Ruger.

Good report. If I wasn't a wheel gun guy I'd sure consider an LCP. I looked at one the other day at the gun shop at the range and they look good. Charlie

Mine, too, was flawless out of the box. For carry, I ended up stuffing it with Buffalo Bore 100 grn. hardcast +P.

Mine has been awesome right outta the box. Very accurate to, with some practice. I love it, and have it on me 90 % of the time.
