Penetration of LBT 300gr LFN

Veral,

just thought I'd let you know what has been done with some of these bullets after using your heat treating method.

I got these bullets to test out at between 35-37BHN using your tester.

While in Houston, I let a guy try out this on a prototype bullet proof vest that he claimed had already stopped 44mag and 25-06 rounds. Well, one bullet blew the vest in to 4 pieces. It just exploded.

The gentleman with the prototype asked if he could have a few rounds for testing and I gave him 5 to use.

He met me back at the range the next day and placed an almost perfect looking bullet on my table and said "I bet you could reload that one"
All you could see was the rifling with just a little nick on the nose.

He stated that bullet went through 3 10" creosote poles and stopped 1/2 way through the 4th. That's 35 inches of pine.

A second bullet he used went through a 3 inch piece of what he claimed was bullet proof glass.

I was not witness to any of the testing, but I can say that I have killed a few rabbits hiding on the backside of a 12 inch mesquite tree.

THese bullets have proven to be the most accurate I shoot out of my 44mag and I get velocities right at 1875fps out of a 14" barrel.

Good to see you back in business. I will be getting with you again about a mould for my 375.

Take care,

HBL
