I know why they backed Strickland. If you remember, the former gov.,Taft, a Rep. left the carry bill a nightmare. He was a definite RINO. He listened to the politically motivated police organizations, when they wrote the carry bill here in Ohio. Remember, if you had kids in the car, it had to be locked in a glove box so that it was out of reach from the kids.(made it real handy if you ever got car jacked, the bad guy would end up with your kids and gun!!)
When Strickland got in, he went to several gun organizations and sat down with them to straighten out the bill.(Ohioians for ConcealCarry, and the PRO) and got the stupid stuff removed or changed. He is a firm believer in 2nd. Amd. rights. That's why he got the nod.
Now that Kasich is the governor elect, all us Ohioians should write a letter to congragulate him, and let him know how we stand on gun rights. He already came out and said he was going to cut state agency's to bring down the size of state govt., which sounds good to me.
For all of you that don't like what the NRA does sometimes, I suggest you write some letters, or if your retired, run for an office. No better way to turn around an organization like them, then to be on the inside. And yes I remember Neal Knox, but if there were enough of people like him, things would change. gypsyman
