Price check on a Handi

Directed at people in the know. Located a later Gardner handi in 22 hornet with an ejector. Pretty nice shape with a scope rail. They were asking $225.00 without sales tax included, which would amont to another 20 or 30 bucks. This seems kinda high to me and I resisted the urge. Did I pass or fail the handiholic final exam?

 Barrel is about half that, throw in the price of a stock set and reciever. Probably not that bad of a price. Plus depends on how bad you want it ;)

Well, is it a caliber you want? If so, how long to you want to wait to find a 'cheaper' one?
I have these notions catch me by suprise too.......not researched or prepared and with money in my pocket.....but, prices are climbing and when does what we want show up? For $25 less would you have bought it anyway? Did you make an offer? Would that $25 really make a difference if you got what you want?

Just an FYI.  Last week, I got a NIB .223 Handi, 24" heavy bbl on Gunbroker.com for 175.00 plus S&H.

Rule 1.  If it's a Handi , and you have the funds, buy it.  Try and get them to throw in a used Pardner or scope.


Rule 2.  If you have less than 10 of the same caliber, refer to rule one.
