Not many farm supply stores around the big city.  Any particular hardware stores?  Ace?  Home Depot?

Ace is the place where I found the smaller wheels .  Regional sales may differ.

Here are two different size 'wheels' (motor parts really) of cast steel, 60 and 71mm in diameter.

I'm going to fit a wooden plug into these and drill for the axel.

These are scrap.  Some minor defect makes them unusable for motors - a thousandth of an inch will do it.  Let me know if y'all want some and I'll do the dumpster diving.

Harbor Freight is a good place to find those wheels.  Price is right too.

Hmm, something about that rig I find appealing... ;D

My wheels were hand-me-downs. I think they were originally from an old floor jack.

Searches on eBay (metal caster wheels, steel/brass caster wheels, antique/furniture caster wheels, etc.) under "all categories", usually turn up some of these type wheels in different sizes.

2.5-inches long?

Wheels 7/8-inch diam.
