Well, I finally picked up my SP101 yesterday at my FFL. It the 357 3" barrel. I checked out a 2" barrel at Gander Mountain just prior to purchasing this one. It carries and conceals just as well as my Model 36 2" barrel did. I hope to post a range report by the weekend. I think I am really going to like this gun. I did allot of research before deciding on this gun and caliber. Charlie

I have two SP101's. One in 357 and one in 327. I think you will love the little buggers.Be aware ,however, that it is a  addiction that can can only be treated  with the additional purchases of all of the calibers available. ::),  Doug

Yeah Doug, I am afraid of that already. I have had the firearm bug for 20+ years already and doesn't seem to get any better even though I already treat it with 3-4 new guns per year. In fact it seems to get worse  :D Maybe I need to call Dr. Phil

I carried a 3" version for years. Very good little revolvers. I recently sold mine and started carrying a G-23. As predicted,I miss my Sp101.

Well I got out to the range to shoot yesterday. I only had enough reloads done to shoot 2 cylinders full. Recoil very mild with 357 starting load with unique powder and 158 grain cast bullets. Need some more trigger time though to see what kind of groups it is capable of. Charlie

  I was looking for a SP 101 in 357 with the 3" barrel a while back. They can be scarce new. I ended up going with a slightly used S&W Model 60, 3" still in 357. A handy gun & the weight & 3" tame the 357 some, though I mostly shoot 38s.

Great choice in the 3". My wife has carried one for about 16 years now. It has to be one of the best handgun designs ever. When she was going through her tactical training she was hitting drop targets at 20, 30, and 40 yards without any problems. It's comfortable with .357 loads, and I could never say that about a S&W J frame. I also have one in .22 LR and it's a fun little plinker that will last several lifetimes.
