Want to ask Clay and Dozer if they did any type of barrel break in process like shoot one shot and clean, or what they did do. I have a 25 in 223 that I havent shot yet.
I know the barrel break in your thinking about, like where you shoot one clean, shoot clean, shoot 5 then clean ,repeat.etc..
It wasn't mentioned in the savage manual,so I didn't bother,,I did clean it as soon as I got it out of the box,,and MAN !!,,I'm glad I did,,,I couldn't believe how much crud come out,,it probably took me near an hour to clean a new out of the box rifle, went to the range, shot about twenty round's,,40g shot good right at the start,32 were not so good.1-1.5 moa, brought er home and cleaned repeated the same the next day.about twenty rounds brought er home and cleaned er...measured concentricity on factory hornady 40g and 32g,,the next weekend, shot my worst runouts of 32g to foul the barrell, about 10 rounds,,then at about a total of 49 rds down the barrel,,the 32 started shooting like a laser beam...actually I'm going out cruising tonight with it,,wind's are calm and I'm looking for a predator or varmint to see what it can actually do
