Hogs
« on: November 17, 2010, 12:16:47 PM »
As I mentioned in my intro post I'm looking for tips and methods for hunting wild hogs here in Ohio. I stumbled into some earlier this fall while deer hunting. About all I've found on the net is for places to hunt behind a fence and pay a fee. I'm not interested in that. Truthfully my interest in hunting them would be after the first of the year when most deer hunting is over and centerfires are legal on public land.

The hogs I stumbled into were feeding on a hillside below where I was set up for deer. I really didn't see them but could hear them. When I left the stand I walked down to where they were feeding. It was easy to spot and the smell was unmistakable. I had planned to set up closer to that spot but due to circumstance I didn't get the opportunity. What are the chances they will be in the same area after a couple of months? I've hunted this area for years and known of hogs in the area but this is the first time I've encountered them. Any help or advice is appreciated...
