Blued barrel forend won't fit stainless frame - anyone know?

I asked this earlier but kinda screwed up the question which may be why it was ignored.  I've got a stainless encore frame and recently bought a blued 10" 7mm-08 barrel for it.  The barrel itself fits into the gun alright, but the problem is the forend pin on the blued barrel works for the walnut forend it came with, but not the black synthetic forend that works with the frame.  At the same time, the synthetic forend will work w/ the stainless frame, but the walnut forend will not.  Essentially I think I have to move that forend pin to fit the black synthetic so the whole thing will work.  Has anyone run across this?  Is there a way to fix this or do I just need to get another barrel?  If I do need to get another barrel, how do I keep from running into this in the future?  Thanks.

Are you mixing rifle forends with pistol forends, the hole spacing is different.   The frame itself has nothing to do with the hole spacing on the barrels.      All frames will take any barrel regardless of stainless or blue and either pistol or rifle.    Ed

Some of the rubber forends require a hanger to match up properly, see your local gunshop.

Thanks guys.  To my knowledge, it's a pistol barrel - but maybe I do need that hanger deal.  I'll see if the local guys have something.  Thank you.
