Rifled 10 Gauge
« on: November 15, 2010, 11:20:16 AM »
Somewhere on the net I found a reference that NEF made a rifled 10 gauge slug gun for a short while.  Has anyone actually seen one of these or know where I may find one.  I already have a rifled 12 and a smoothbore 10.

Thanks

The 12ga Ultra Slug Hunter uses a 10ga platform, different frame and barrel diameter than the other shotguns.

Supposdly NEF made a 10 gauge tracker slug gun in 1994.  i am guessing it was discontinued.  not many 10 gauge slug hunters out there.  I will keep searching.

There's no 63b barrel listed, there is a 638 which is a standard 10ga smoothie.

I guess what I am trying to say is it is no longer available and has not been since 1994.  I am well aware of what I can get from NEF directly.  Hell I even talked to them on the phone.  I was just hoping one of the NEF junkies just might know where to find one.

Federal and Nitro make 10ga foster style slugs and they are 3 1/2". You can find 8 ga guns on gunbroker but I don't know where you could use them for anything but expensive toys

They even made 4ga. for dangerous game, all certainly way out of my price range!
The 8ga. shell looks impressive in a shotshell lineup, makes the 10ga. look a little puny!
I would guess those 3 1/2", 10ga. slug loads would have a recoil impulse much like an big African rifle. Maybe kind of a less expensive way to 'get the feel of one', but I fear my chiropractor would be the only one to benifit of me firing it.
