Browning 45 ACP
« on: November 18, 2003, 10:16:43 AM »
About 20 years ago I came across a browning 45 ACP double action auto it looked alot like a hi power 9mm. Anyway I traded the gun for a rifle and an old truck a few years later. I have never found another. I always look at the gun shows and havent seen another. I was just wondring if anyone else owns one and what the value is,when was it produced etc. {So I can kick myself} Thanx...........Mike

Mike i checked all my books and found no mention of a 45 acp Hi Power. Should have been as the design was  a Colt / Browning deal. Try Google for a Browning forum, or go to the 1911 forum.

What you saw was a Browning-imported SIG P220. Browning imported them as the BDA(Browning Double Action). They were imported in 9MM, .38Super and .45ACP.

The Browning BDA I have is more accurate than I am, by far.  A real shooter.  Bought it in a Rod and Gun Club in about '80.
