Holster for mdl. 83 w/ 6" bbl.

Hey y'all.  I'm in need of suggestions here.  My title is pretty self explanatory.  I'm looking for a good, comfortable holster for my model 83.  I guess I should suggest parameters here-  I have zero historical or SASS interest.  I want a decent leather holster with a standard button snap, or similar quick detach, but sure retention type of fashion.  I would greatly prefer one that conceals the trigger, but...I can live without that, if need be.  One that hangs fairly low would be greatly preferred I believe Galco makes a series called "The Outdoorsman" but I don't see that it fits a model 83.  Right now I've got a generic, Blackhawk nylon multi-fit monstrosity.  Would a leather holster molded for a Super Blackhawk work?

Freedom Arms sells just such a holster. I generally have them send one each time I get a revolver from them.

I have a crossdraw for the 83 that I got from FA when I had a 500 WE.  Very nice for the money and well built.

Betcha there are times when you wish you still had that octagon WE Glenn. There are plenty of times when I'm glad you don't ! ;D :D

I sure appreciate yer thoughts on the matter.  I've thunk, and thunk and finally reached a conclusion....

I've got alot more time than I do money, and I've got a pretty good pattern around here, a wife that's great with layout, a few feet of leather, and some thread, so....I'm gonna have a go at making one with my own ten thumbs.

If it looks adn works great, I'll be sure to post pics and brag it up.  If it looks like hell but works....maybe I'll show a pic or two.  If it turns out ugly AND useless...I'll probably contact Freedom Arms, and pretend this post never existed. ;D
