2010 adams co. buck.  good thing i got before the amish did.  after i shot him, i found an arrow, with broadhead, front leg was messed up, 2 slugs, not to mention my 240 gr. 44 bullet.  i think he came to me as a last resort....  at least he didnt throw himself in front of a car....

i tell ya, it was scary opening morning.  from the distance i heard the van pull up, the doors open, then slam shut.  i could hear the faint german speaking vermins (amish).  this all took place right at daybreak.  i was allready in my stand, waiting on the day to begin.  i had one nice doe come by with three little ones, a button head come thru not to long afterwards, then a little pukey 6 ptr.  the filed right by me went across father in laws little 2 acre scrub patch and into a thick fence row surrounding a little 4 acre field.  kaboom, kaboom, kaboom, kaboom, kaboom, kaboom, kaboom.  2 deer made it out that i seen.  this all took place less than 150 yds from me.  i was hugging the tree for dear life.  and they wonder why we dont see very many deer around here......  all i know is that a deer slug whistles when it flies by fairly close.

Congrats on the nice deer and surving to tell about it.

Down here in Washington county, it is exactly the same with the amish. They are true believers in the "If it is Brown it is Down policy". ::)

Glad ya got to put him out of his misery!!
They [Amish and German Baptist} go door to door around here trying to lease up all the hunting ground. Usually one year of their crap and they are gone. One or two lease it and 8-10 show up to hunt.

Been hearing alot more of leasing hunting property. What kind of rates do guys pay for hunting rights. Haven't ran into it around here very much but it does seem to be gaining in popularity....
