New gun problem
« on: November 27, 2010, 01:20:13 PM »
Bought a new 300 wsm Browning A-Bolt. When shooting at the range I notice the first 3 shots are always wild and as the barrel gets warmer the shots get very accurate, but never with the first 3 shots. Whats up with that? I have only shot about 70 shots. Will this inprove with more use or do I have a problem with the gun?

I would look first at your stocks bedding.

As the gun is fired the barrel heats and grows. This many times has the affect of incrreasing the pressure between the barrel and the stock. I would definetly say you have a bedding problem..
