 I was wondering if anybody had any info on the 257winchester super short mag?I think it would be a fun cartridge to have.Ilove the 25 calibers.I have a   250-3000,257 AI,2506,2506AI,257 Weatherby.
A short little bolt action  with a 20 inch barrel would be great around the 51/2 to 6 pound weight.
Happy hunting.

I think I saw where Z-hat has a reamer for that now. It ought to work quite nicely, over a wide range of bullet weights.

Frank:

Your mention of the 25-06 Ackley Improved got my interest, since I own one. I've only developed one load for it:

Winchester brass, Federal 210 M primers, 61 grs. of RL 19 and Barnes XLC blue coated 100 grain bullets.

I have no idea as to what velocity I am getting, but I suspect it is 3400+ fps. Precision? 1.5 inch 3-shot groups at 200 meters.

This is my "deer and antelope death ray", and I'll use it someday soon whe I get back home to Arizona. Hunting in Wisconsin is done mostly at very short range.

Please let me know what kind of performance you get out of your 25-06 AI.  Regards,  :gun4:

I think Winchester is coming out with the 25 wssm. I just got a new Jerry's Sport Center catalog and it lists Winchester component brass in 25 wssm.

Jeff is correct.  The 25 WSSM will be a factory loading for 04.
