My Grandma gave me an old shotgun that was my great great grandfathers. She said it was manufactured in the year 1900. It is a 12 ga. Imprinted on it are:
on the top of the barrel it says "12 GA CHOKE"
On the side the name is "CHEROKEE 50"
Where the stock connects, on the underside it has "192111"
The barrel has been sawed to 22 in.
I would appreciate any info on this gun, and does anyone know the value?

I am sorry, but I made a mistake. It is a 50 Cherokee, not a Cherokee 50.
I found out why the barrel was cut to 22 inches. A man was going to shoot it but there was dirt in the barrel. when he pulled the trigger, the end of the barrel exploded.
