.45 Carbine

According to the Hi-Point website they're supposed to come out with a .45 carbine in May, has anybody heard any details on it?

 All I know is that it has been 'in the works' for a very long time, with production being delayed several times. I remember reading a series of posts somewhere four or five years ago where Hi Point stated that they were still working on the twist rate for the .45 caliber carbine barrels; if the current release date is indeed correct, then I would guess they have gotten everything sorted out finally  If time and money allows, I would definitely like to get ahold of a new TS model. I've always wanted to try a .45, and a solid, inexpensive carbine like the Hi Point seems like a great place to start That reminds me, I need to get out an shoot my old 995 at some point...it's been almost two years since I fired that thing

Seems to me that the standard 16" twist would be perfect as 45 acp pistol bullets are so short.

I just hope that they would dump the unique mag style and make it compatible with a 1911 G.I. mag.

I have a 40Cal Hi-point, and love it. I have been waiting for the 45Cal also.

I have a 40 that I bought over two years ago.  I heard they were coming out with 45 then.  I just bought a 9mm and haven't fired it yet.
If it is anything like the 40.  I'll love it.....the 40 is a fun plinker.  The 9mm will be a little cheaper.  I have a red-dot on the 40.  The iron sights were accurate.  I had the red-dot, from another project, so I mounted it.  Don't like the hand guns, I fired one once.  I have big hands the grips were a little small.

 As I understand it, Hi Point delayed production on the .45 carbine in order to catch up on back-orders of their other firearms, specifically the 9mm and .40S&W carbines; for quite some time, there was a nationwide shortage not only of the carbines, but of magazines and, to a lesser extent, the handguns and their magazines as well At least, that is how it seemed to be. I know dealers around here could only get a few Hi Point items every few months, and what little they got sold out fast. I think demand far exceeded Hi Point's expectations, and their rather small manufacturing outfit was simply overwhelmed; I called the company several times and was told about as much. Things seem to be leveling out now, and Hi Point appears to be catching up, at least for now. Hopefully, the .45 carbines will be out by the expected deadline this time, but we will have to wait and see.

Oops, my bad, it's the 40 S & W that's (finally) available...which is good as the 45 ACP is up for production after the 40's TS intro...

I was just at the local HiPoint store and they had three on the rack and two .40's. I've been there too many times, the C9s are starting to look like one should follow me home.

Today (Dec 11) at the Tyler, Texas, gun show, one dealer had a nice selection of the carbines.  9mm:$270; 10mm: $290; .45:$300.  NIB, with one magazine, no frills.  They're out there, you just have to look for 'em.
