Chevy Problem- frame cracks on snow plow trucks
« on: December 08, 2010, 01:50:18 PM »
I found this on another forum was interesting enough to relate here as I use a 2009 Chevy 2500HD with a BOSS V snow plow.

The top photo dipicts a broken frame on a Chevy 3500HD 'note the double thick frame' just below the crack.

The lower photo dipicts a 2500HD with reinforcement gussets added

thats not really surpriseing.any newer truck is barely able to support the load that normal road driveing puts on them.

Like he said theres problems with all of them anymore using plows. They have to lighten trucks to much to get the gas mileage up and the frame is where alot of the weight is.
