Most of them just have an extra long cylinder pin, if you push it all the way in in blocks the hammer, if you keep it out there is no other safety. I replaced those with a regular length cylinder pin. There are some other Uberti's that have a thing on the hammer that can be rotated and it will be a hammer block, but I think those are on the conversions, at least there was one on the Remington 58 conversion I bought. I have only seen the long cylinder pins on the 1873's, unless they changed something. Uberti's are all hammer down on an empty far as I know, because if you use the safety, the entire gun is not able to operate at all, so I don't think anyone actually pushes the cylinder pin in and totes it that way. If the extra long cylinder pin bugs you, just replace it with one for a Colt or USFA.
