M94 with 1/2 magazine
« on: December 28, 2010, 10:32:28 AM »
New here and not much of a lever man.  However, I looked at a M94 with 1/2 magazine at a shop today and really liked it.  I haven't seen one before and was wondering when they may have been made (I did not have time to look at the serial number).  Anyone have one?  Thinking it would be a great little still hunting rifle.

I'd have to agree about it being a fine deer hunter.  I saw one for sale on a local forum a couple months ago, looked pretty good, sold for $250, if I hadn't been short of funds I'd have snapped it up.  Like I REALLY need a fourth W-94!  To be honest, here in Redneckville if a 94 or Marlin for that matter doesn't hold at least seven, nobody seems to want it, guess they plan on missing a whole bunch.  Sorry I can't answer you other questions.  If the price isn't too high, I'd go for it were I in the market.

Winchester produced Model 1894 & Model 94 Rifles & Carbines fron 1894 to 2006 with four different length magazine tubes:

Full - Same length as the barrel (approx)

3/4 length.

2/3 length.

1/2 length ( aka "button" mag)

Any length, other than full, on a pre-64 would have been a Special Order.
