Just a little more info on hand reaming, I also did an H&R 270Win to 270Ackley by hand, I did a chamber cast after reaming, the chamber is just .002" out of round which is probably as good as a factory chamber. IMO, as long as the reamer pilot fits the bore good and engages the bore before cutting the actually chamber, it will cut a decent chamber if you're careful and keep the reamer aligned without putting side pressure on it. I was going to do my 6.5x55 to improved, but there's so much taper to the original chamber that the reamer wasn't well centered to begin with, so I didn't do that one.
