Anyone ever play with 195 gn + cast in a 30 Herrett ?? I know the RCBS manual lists loads with their old designed 180,  just thought I'ld try some of my heavy cast . ;D

I've found some barrels will and some will not shoot the heavies in the .30H. Most should stabilize them, but some just prefer the lighter bullets. Using the 200g FB GC bullets and 220g FB GC 4227 seems the best powder for the ones I've tried.

Thought it was just my pooter with the gib jab garbage, Really glad it is not on at present!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Been some years back, but tried some heavy jacketed bullets from a 30 Herrett and they'd key hole almost right out of the barrel.

Keep em coming!

Early T/C 30 H barrels were twisted 1 in 14. They carried over from the Milek /Herrett days of trying to get a 110 or 125gr bullet over parts of Wyoming as quickly as they could.  They werent thinking ''heavy bullets''.  Newer barrels which have 1 in 10 shouldnt have that problem. rp
