A not-so-little nugget to get the fever flowin.
« on: July 23, 2010, 10:08:01 AM »
So, I'm at a rare coin store in Salt Lake City a while back and somehow got on the topic of gold. The store owner comes out with this bad boy and sticks it in my hand. Sucker's gotta way at least 5 pounds and is for sale for the meager price of $70,000.  :o

How'd ya like to find THIS in your next dig.  ;D

Up at Jamestown in the Sierras, seen 2 pics, one weight 766 and something ounces.
The other, a little smaller, not by much.
Caption on one Polaroid "766.xx oz .....found on the Stanislaus River".Don't recall what the other
caption was.
The old calibers and guns got the job done

True, they are out there, but I just seem to find flakes. But with gold at $1300/oz now, I'm going to have to keep my finds in the safe now.
