I don't know of any "average" 1911 owners, but the average number of rounds 1911 owners put downrange is probably lower than you would think. Unfortunately, way too many 1911s sit idle compared to the amount that get shot regularly.

The average shooter?  Less than a whole box. 

Us prolific shooters don't make up the numbers for the ones who don't shoot at all.

We've all seen the gun brought in to sell with an almost full box of ammo with it...six rounds missing if it's a revolver...seven if it's a 1911.
