I just picked up a S&W 1700LS in 7x64mm for $225. It's in great shape and I can't wait to shoot it. The stock is a little diferent since it's synthetic (plastic) with a wood grain look but at first glance it looks like a nice wood stock.

Does anyone know if a Howa 1500 stock will fit this rifle?

Great. I know there are several stock makers that make stocks for these rifles so which one would be a good choice for a light weight mountain gun?
