chamber insert question
« on: December 16, 2010, 01:40:06 PM »
Don't quite know which forum to post this on, so maybe here.
Anyone use the .45 inserts that have a .22 chamber off center to let you shoot .22's in a centerfire?
Are they good enough for squirrels at 20 yds?

used to be a bunch of these made by Ramo's but I have not seen them advertised for years. They were geared for taking the varmint class centerfire down to rimfire like you were saying. I dont think that they worked too bad accuracy wise but burned a lot dirtier in the chamber area.

If they worked fairly well, a guy might be able to take a squirrel from a deer stand. I'm thinking it would make a .45LC into a .22 rifle (at least momentarily), but I've never used one.
Don't always see squirrels when squirrel hunting, but always see 'em when I'm deer hunting.
