Just bought a silhouette cz452 the one with the plastic stock and was wanting to put a good scope on it but don't have the cash for much than a bushnell, but don't think i want to spend any more than that any way

Take a look at a Sightron SII or a Bushnell Elite 4200.  The rule of thumb for silhouette, is that it pays to get a good scope, if not you will spend the same amount anyways in the future.

I have seen some people using a BSA, or Tasco, etc....however, it really is the luck of the draw in finding one that will track appropriately.

Good luck

Another good value to check on is the Weavet KT-15X made by Meade Instruments. The scopes go for about $250.00 and are top-notch, if 15X magnification and 1/8 min. clicks are OK with you. :cb2:

Arizona Jake....are you sure KT-15s are 1/8 MOA clicks???  Mine is 1/4 MOA.  Sightron 6-24x42 are 1/8 MOA.

I second the Weaver KT-15 as a good value/performance trade off if you are not ready for the expensive stuff.  Sightrons also fall into the good value but are not as bright as the KT-15.  As such I have my KT-15 mounted and not my Sigtrons at the present time.  The Bushnell 4200's are excellent optically and track well but are in the upper price range relative to a KT-15.

Own and use
Weaver KT-15
Sightron 6-24x42 (2)
Leupold 6-20x40
Leupold 6-20x40 EFR
Leupold 24x (2)

Sold
BSA Platnum Plus 8-32 made in Japan, too dark for me.

Yes, this is a bad habit I need to shake!

K
I remember the feeling. But I am older now and I hope a little wiser. I have tried hundreds of combinations in the last 25 yrs. Unfortunately most of them did not work (costing me alot of money). Like some of the other reply have said, the one thing you can not skimp on is your optics...... I have tried the combination of a cheap gun and a high end scope VS a cheap scope on a high end gun. 75% of the time the cheap gun and the expensive scope will come out on top. Because now matter how well your gun shoots, if your scope doesn't do its job your are totally lost. But if your much better scope is telling you that your cheaper gun is not doing so well <<<<< well at least you know where you are at. Then you can still work on making your cheaper gun shoot a little bit better. Stock pressures, bedding, different ammo, trigger work, receiver screw tensions and many other tricks. But if your scope does not focus. If it does not repeat. You are toast. If I were you I would save my money over the winter and get a great scope that you can keep for a life time. I believe you will enjoy your shooting a great deal more.
