Don't worry about twist.I'd start with 50-55 grain bullets

I think you will find it is a 1 in 12 twist.  With a 22-250 you will be able to shoot most anything but the really heavy long bullets.  It will be able to stabalize bullets that will not work out of a 223 with the same twist rate because you will be able to drive them faster.  I would not worry about twist at all, a 22-250 is made for light weight bullets, so 55gr bullets should be really happy.  Larry

It will do fine I think, you may have a problem blowing up bullets at top speed however, the one in 12 twist is faster than what a 22-250 started out using, (1 in 14) so that may be an issue for you using light weight bullets.  You should be able to beat 4,400 fps with the real light ones.  Larry

No real danger of spinning modern varmint bullets apart and 1:12 is still pretty slow.  I've not had good luck in the accuracy department with the 36gn VGs.  Could just be that my rifles (both .223) don't like that particular bullet.  As mentioned, the 22-250 is all about light bullets going really fast.  55gn is pretty much the standard for what is considered a "heavy" bullet for that cartridge.  The extra velocity will give you a slight stability margin compared to .223 but not much.
