Should a TG have to be a life member?
« on: December 13, 2003, 07:10:08 AM »
I am a $A$$ member on Social Security Disability. I don't have the extra money for life membership in $A$$. Our club has no TG because noone is a life member. It seems to me each club should be represented by a TG and life membership should not be mandatory. It seems as if money talks again.

Should a TG have to be a life member?

I understand the requirement for being a life member, they want comeone committed to the sport. Yeah, I know, you and I are both are as committed as most life members, but it is at least an indication.  If the club really wants you to be their TG then let the club foot the bill, that way no one is saddled with a large sum of money that many can't afford, and the people electing you should know you well enough that they feel secure in your representing them.  This is the way we worked it, we were represented by someone we trusted, and for the extra work that our elected TG had to do, he was repaid with a life membership.  There were no hard feelings, everyone was happy, and we were represented.
