scope rings for a Stevens 200
« on: March 02, 2011, 03:54:48 AM »
Got a pretty good deal on a Stevens 200 in .308. And am planning on putting a Bushnell Elite 3200, 5x15x 40mm tactical on it. And, was just wondering if anybody has a scope simialr to this on their 200. I think medium hieght rings will get it up high enough. I used a pair of Weaver detachable rings, with the dual top caps on my .270, and it worked out pretty well. Any thoughts or suggestions?? Thanks-gypsyman

I have a 42mm tasco target on my stevens 223.  mounted with a 1 piece base (EGW) and leupold medium rings.  i love it, sits very low but too low.

A lot is going to depend on the base.  I have a Bushnell 4200 3-12x44 with an EGW base and Burris XTR low rings were high enough.  I have a 40mm obj Bushnell mounted on two-piece Weaver bases and medium Burris signature rings and it is also about right.  Those same rings with an EGW base are a little on the high side.

that combo will work but you will need the egw one piece mount. if you are on a budget weaver makes a 1 piece mount for savage. got a bushy 4x12x40 with the weaver base and med rings on mine
