Shipping Crews operating in that part of the world need to be armed or hire private security escorts through the straights. Period.  - JMHO
I agree an even stronger statement would have been to leave none alive.

Thanks for sharing.

A few 5 kiloton "light houses" positioned on the somali coast could warn future shipping that pirates used to be near.

I worked very closely with S.Korea Regular Army troops for a number of years and they were one tough group of soldiers (seriously Tough).

I understand this elite team were not S. Korea Regs but a special task force , but  gotta tell ya ,
if they were anything like their reg counter parts I worked with , I was very surprised they didn't eliminate all truthfully.

Nothing like a visual picture of a number of pirates dangling off the sides of a tanker heading through the straits to send a clear
message to all that they should not even consider attacking.

I would like to think that the surviving pirates are now envying their dead buddies.

They eat dogs, I assume that the pirates were lucky to be released with all their limbs still attached.
