Question for those who own or lease hunting land..

  My son is founder & director of a Christian mission which builds ramps for the needy, repairs houses for the needy and on 3 occasions built homes for deserving folks.  During these jobs, teenagers learn the building trades from professionals who donate their time and skills.  The deserving recipients do not pay a dime for their ramp, room or house, nor has my son ever been paid a dime for his 60-70 hours per week dedicated to this work, which he does besides being an OTR truck driver.
   Now he has an idea of a way to support the ministry and I want to put it to you fellows for opinions.  He hopes to get his youth involved in constructing Tiny Houses for use as hunting, beach or vacations. There is actually a trend starting where folks use them for a main home.  Would any of you fellows be interested in buying such a house for use at a hunting or beach location.  Yes, it would be movable if a lease is not renewed etc.
     How much is one worth to you, equipped as shown here ?

  Do not take their prices for his, much material would be new and donated and the labor would be the teenagers & instructors..also donated..

That is a pretty cool concept!  I would think the pricing stated on the website you listed is incredibly high, especially considering they are using recycled materials, i.e. used products.  It sounds like your son would be able to do better though.  $100 a square foot would be a pretty high figure!

I've spent the night in a whole lot of hunting camps in my life.  One of the most important issues usually is bed space.  Bunks are probably a must.  A wood stove and chimney would be important for the midwest and colder.  At least around here you'd be competing against the pre-fab houses so you'd have to offer a price or quality advantage over what they can do.

God Bless your son IG, for doing what he does. That is awesome that a young man has the will to provide that much time to helping people.
Those prices listed do seem a bit high. I know in northern Pa., there is a big market for hunting camps. If the price was right, I'm sure they would sell.

   Thanks for the input guys.  As I said, pay no attention to the prices listed by the company in Texas, I just used their site for the pictures.  We are just in the 'thinking' stage and I know his prices would come in way,way below those listed...and it would be all new material...  He has an architect friend of the ministry who may very well work up some basic designs which can be done in variations of trim & materials.

  We are in southwestern NY, so delivery to northern PA would be a very viable option.  We are about 30-35 miles north of the PA line.

It seems like marketing would be a central issue. It would never occur to me to look for something like this. But if I knew about it, I might consider it.  Around here we can build a hunting shack for little money. I built a really nice one for six hundred dollars.
