Yep; Fox network is being sued...and I hope they lose this one..
A past employee was fired for using the fearsome "n" word. Now, I don't like derogatory words used against anyone's race or nationality, but according to the story he got fired for asking if it were now permissable for him to use the "n" word, since some were often using it..
http://www.philly.com/philly/news/local/20110105_Trial_set_for_firing_over_use_of__n__word.html He claims that African American employees have used the term freely upon occasion... He says it is a clear case of race discrimination when some can use a derogatory term while others cannot...based on the race of the one employing the term. He says it is a clear case of UNequal justice under the law. I believe he is right....plus if somebody thinks the term is so egregious and they are so "offended" when they hear it, why in the world would they use it themselves ?
Frankly, I am often offended whern I hear trhe derogatory use of the name "J----C----", the disrespectful words "G--D----" the words "F" and
the infamous "MF" words...but where is the outrage over that ? Seems as if we have a population that is super-sensitive to some distasteful words/phrases...but tone deaf to others !
