Mgf dates on S&W M&P revolvers?

I said M&P since the term Model 10 was not in use when these were made.  A friend has a 5" marked .38 S&W with a lanyard ring and i'ts #821xxx.  Mine is a 4" marked .38 S&W Special and it's #360xxx.  Anyone with a clue to when these were made I would appreciate it.  Thanks in advance.

I would venture a guess on the 5" .38 S&W, with the lanyard ring to be circa 1940 and the 4", .38 Special, #360xxx, to be from late 1920-21. Merry Christmas!

You mean to say there are rifles other than old Winchester leverguns ?
