My new/old 760 makes meat!
« on: November 13, 2010, 01:37:52 PM »
I just got this gun a few days ago and on it's very first trip to the woods, today was our opening day, I got a big doe at about 80 yards with a nice shot right behind the shoulder. The big doe made it about 15 yards after the shot and piled up.
I have shot this gun quite a bit since I got it, I know more than 100 shots and it has not once hiccuped.

I think I'm really going to enjoy the 760 pump deer rifle, hopefully more meat to report before season is over.

Congrats on your success. The 760/7600 rifles/carbines are great. They shoulder and point quick.

Thanks Dave!
You're right, this gun just feels right when I shoulder it. The 80 yard shot I made was offhanded and the bullet went right were I wanted it to go. The doe only went about 15 yards but I already had another cartridge chambered before she went down. I've never had a pump action firearm before, why did I wait so long. It seems like it just comes natural to shoot and pump without even thinking about it.
I guess you can tell that I'm really liking my 760! ;D

GOOD SHOOTING!

I shot 3 deer this year with my 2 760's.  A buck and a button with the 760 in 35 Remington, and a doe with the 30-06.

The 35 Remington is a 1954 model, and the 30-06 is 1976 vintage.
The older I get...The better I was.
