Nice solution for iron sight screw holes?

Does anyone sell some plugs, screws, or any other solution to fill iron sight screw holes when the front sight is removed from a Contender barrel? 

I remove all my front sights on my scoped Contenders for a cleaner line, but I'd like to fill the tapped holes with something so they don't fill up with lint, dirt, water, etc.  I don't want anything that sticks up and will snag on the inside of a case.

What are the options out there?  Someone must solve this issue somehow?

ON my Henry I had two holes show up when I removed the rear sight to install a Skinner Peep. Tryed a few allen head set screws but didnt like the hole so went to the Hardware store and got two black round headed screws that fit an allen wrench. They were metric of course (even on an all American rifle). Had to cut some thread off to shorten them but now there is just a small round head showing on each. Looks fine for me. good luck

Slotted filler screws (both blued and stainless) are available from some of the gun smithing parts supply companies, and at least used to be also available from some of the third party custom TC barrel makers.    The best ones are dome topped to closer match the barrels contour when installed.

They are called "plug screws". If your local gun shoppe or gun smith that mounts scopes. Ask them. Most will have a screw box or three filled with an assortment of screws. You will likely find just what you need there.

Short of that, I would say brownells should have what you need.

Most plugs will be a little 'deep'. A #8 shot should make it flush.
