I have an older 'Millenium' model (I think made by Uberti for Cabela's) that is comparable to what you are looking at with the brass grip frame. Of course, they were cheaper back then, cheapest was $199, often $249ish, but Ive seen them priced about $399 (!!!) around here lately, so that isnt bad. With a new one you have a warrantee, unlike buying one at a gunshow for $300 and being out of luck.
I like mine, especially since I cant afford a real Colt's Mdl P, and mine shoots good for windage in my hold with pick the elev. for whichever bullet weight Im using (pretty well on with 250ish casts).
That darn brass gripframe bugs me if I think about it (surely they didnt save any real money in manufacturing by making a non original like that!?), but if I took it off and got it nickel plated it would look like a civilian model (then Id have more money in it and it wouldnt work any better).
So, if you can be satisfied with a clone, and your dealer will let you try it, or return it if it doesnt shoot close to POA for you with the loads you want to shoot, go for it.
