.45 acp RN bullet mould?
« on: January 02, 2011, 03:48:37 PM »
Hi Veral,
I'm wondering if you make a 4 gang mould that casts a plain hard ball 'RN' shape for the .45 acp?
I do not see that option on the LBT site, and I already have one of your FP moulds.
If so, I'm going ordering a 230 gr. mould from you soon. Your moulds are THE best I've used.
Thanks. Dennis

I sure do, but tend to keep a bit quiet about it, for fear one of my treasured customers gets mugged on the way to shoot targets and won't be able to get his assailent into a horizontal position quickly enough.  Round ball does shoot well, but is as poor a live target bullet as one can stuff into the ACP. (Hope you don't mind my 'old foggie' notion that a gun is designed to be a killing machine and should be so loaded when ever it's loaded.)

I call my RN, B for ball and it carries a tiny flat on the tip.  Otherwise it's real close to jacketed ball form.  Don't take the above tirade seriously.  I'll be real friendly if you order one!

Thanks Veral, ya I enjoy the ribbing really. have many moulds from you and know the quality that they produce. I already have the FP mould you made for me many years ago and it works very well. The RN bullet however seems to shoot a bit better in my Kimber, and I'm wanting to use the RN for popping rocks and inatimate targets only, for fun. No live taget shooting for this one. If you have a suggestion for the most accurate shooter, I'm all ears.
Thanks Veral.

I made a special stubby round nose for a customer some years ago and believe I still have the pattern.  He was a target shooter and really kicked A _ _ with it, but it shoud kick rocks as well!  Contact me by email and I'll see if I can find it.  If not I have a couple of other RN patterns that are designed around ultimate reliability of feeding.  Any of them are good choices.
