How to disassemble a T/C sight?
« on: January 18, 2011, 01:27:19 PM »
Does anyone on here know how to take one of these apart?
I want to turn one into a peep sight, by adding an apperature to it. But I can't figure out how to take that windage screw out.

Not quite sure what you're wanting to do here...but...to remove the rear sight..1-Tap out the roll pin with proper size punch(I leave the punch in place until after the next step.  2-Remove elevation screw(Note:there is a spring under it, but just a very slight pressure keeps it from flying).  3-Now extract the punch from the pin hole and the sight, elevation screw and spring will fall off.  This exposes the screws that hold the sight base to the barrel.  Removal of the sight base will expose two more screw holes, giving you the four for scope base installation.  Williams makes a peep that will attach in place of the scope base.  Also E A Brown Co. markets a scope base(Weaver style)that has an adjustable peep incororated into the rear of the base. ;)

I want to take the blade out of the sight and file a round groove where the notch is.
Then solder an apperature into that round slot, creating a peep sight.
I'm trying not to spend the $73.00 for a Williams sight.
