Glenfield 30A Stock
« on: December 16, 2010, 10:06:56 AM »
Hello guys,

Brand new to the site and love it so far. I recently came accross a Glenfield model 30A in 30-30 win for a great price. The stock and forend is in pretty rough shape but the metal is almost perfect. I was wondering if anyone sold replacement stocks for these guns. Any help would be appreciated.

replacement stocks or stock sets are available from several supplier.  Just google marlin 336 replacement stocks and take your pick.  Sometimes you find take offs on the auction sites as well.  I have bought some very nice wood this way.  You are going to love that rifle.

FWIW, Marlin's "Glenfield" line of firearms, although not as well-finished as the non-Glenfield guns ( and with plainer wood) are metallically & mechanically in every other respect the quality of a "Marlin" branded firearm.

They are an excellent value, WHEN they can be found - especially unmolested.

Sometimes you can find stocks at gun shows.  Always worth a look.

I just bought one of those, and the precious owner had sanded and painted the stock with spray can truck bed liner. Looks great, like a polymer of some type. A great cheap alternative to buying a new stock. Being a Genfield, shouldn't hurt the value at all...Gil

More than once I have seen a 30A sell for as much or more than a 336.  They hold their value well as long as they haven't been bubbaed.

Hi Guys

Just registered this afternoon. I to have a Glenfield 30 chambered in 35rem, it was one of four weapons left to me by my father in law.
It needs a stock bad and I have been looking all day for one.
Numerich Arms in NY has a number of them listed under the 336 but mostly they are out of stock.
Found this sight & think I will give them a try, price seems good.

If you have a Glenfield 30 in 35 Remington, there weren't that many made in that caliber.  My brother has one, and it's the only 30 I've seen in 35 Remington.  You want to hold on to it.
